Non-GMO Claims: Paka baking mix ingredients DO come with statements stating that they ARE NOT bioengineered. Silver Fern™ Brand has been advised of the recent FDA non-GMO guide lines that suggests avoiding the use of “non-GMO” for labels:

The FDA has published guidance regarding statements about GMO status (November 2015). The guidance is not mandatory, but the FDA does not believe that labels should contain language including “non-GMO” and have stated they find this misleading to consumers. In the interest of the long-term, consider labeling GMO status with the language preferred by the FDA. These are as follows:

·         Not bioengineered

·         Not genetically engineered

·         Not genetically modified through the use of modern biotechnology

·         We do not use ingredients that were produced using modern biotechnology

All Natural and 100% Natural Claims: Paka baking mixes only use natural ingredients. Silver Fern™ Brand has been advised to avoid the use of the terms “all natural” and “100% natural” on labels.
